Implementation of Measures

Talking and decision making is only part of building the capacity to adapt. Being physically able to adapt is just as important. The following set of case studies cover a range of adaptation demonstration projects that took place between 2008 and 2011. Clim-ATIC was able to help local communities and decision makers implement adaptations and learn valuable lessons along the way.

Climate change scenarios are needed for flood mapping and risk response planning. Currently, this kind of climate change and flood modelling is done only in the city of Pori and experiences and best practise from there are used also in Rovaniemi and Kittilä. Local adaptation strategy themes, for example tourism and flooding, were taken into account in this demonstration project.
